Super 8 screen, 2002

Super8 explores the concept of flexibility through the development of a folded stackable component. Different colour acrylic bands slot together to create a vertical partition. The user is invited to create different formations by assemblying the components in different configurations. The pieces were made in three different finishes: frost, translucent and live edge. All pieces were lasercut and hand folded. The ā€œZā€ singular component allows different stretched or wide woven configurations. The piece has no fixings, just a series of regular nibs that interlock together and resemble old film strips. Super8 is a development of a previous design, the Kaleidoscope screen.
